A new CSC report, funded by the Kauffman Foundation describes how public schools, whether district or charter, can collaborate with eachother to increase their effectiveness with students and their organizational efficiency. The report is based on interviews with non-profit organizations, small businesses, and educators, as well as a literature review. It offers examples of how non-profits have cooperated with each other, as have small businesses, to help them achieve goals together together than are difficult or impossible to achieve by themselves. As public schools face various challenges, we hope this report is useful. Anything in the report, as well as the entire report, can be copied and distributed. The report was authored by Jasmine Blanks, 2009-2010 Research assistant for the Center for School Change, Naima Bashir, 2008-2009 CSC research assistant, and Joe Nathan, CSC director.
