ABOUT Minnesota Charter School Resource Center (MCSRC)
The
Minnesota Charter School Resource Center helps increase student
acheivement and graduation rates for children throughout Minnesota.
Founded upon work the Center for School Change has done over the past
decade, the Minnesota Charter School Resource Center provides free,
high quality technical assistance to people wishing to start and
operate public charter schools.
The
Minnesota Charter School Resource Center provides periodic meetings
held at various times - all day, afterschool and everning - that offer
help for people creating new schools. Participants learn about
successful charter schools and talk with experts in charter school
finance, governance, curriculum development, assessment, evaluation,
legal issues and accountability. Additional conferences and workshops
on vital issues will be held through continuing collaboration with the
Minnesota Association of Charter Schools (MACS) - an organization that
serves charter schools.
Center for
School Change publications posted to the web include these topics:
accountability, family involvement, school facilities. The Minnesota
Charter School Resource Center can advise on sources of business,
technical and accounting support, and provides tailored technical
assistance to help developers refine their plans.
Charter
school development resources have been made possible by generous
support from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the Frey
Foundation, the Johnston Education Fund of the Minneapolis Foundation,
the Minneapolis Foundation, the Saint Paul Foundation, the General
Mills Foundation, Charter Friends National Network, Scheffer Lang and
the TCF Foundation.
